Welcome to Planning Explorer
Planning Explorer is the first phase of Electronic Planning Information for Citizens (ePIC) in Northern Ireland which will develop into a fully interactive online planning system enabling planning applications to be submitted and paid for online as well as being tracked online throughout their processing lifecycle.
Planning Explorer is a web browser that provides electronic access to planning applications in Northern Ireland. Users can search for individual planning applications, view lists of new valid planning applications within their local council area and view lists of planning applications being presented to district councils as part of the statutory planning consultation process.
Using Planning Explorer to search for a specific planning application
Click the Search by Application Number option on the menu bar to the left. The application reference must be entered as District Reference / Year / Application Reference e.g. R/2009/0001
Using Planning Explorer to view a list of recently advertised valid planning applications
Click the Advertised Applicatons option on the menu bar to the left. Select the district council area you require. You can select advertising lists for This Week / Last Week / This Month / Last Month
Using Planning Explorer to view a list of planning applications being presented to your local council
Click the Applications Being Presented To Council option on the menu bar to the left. Select the district council area you require. You can select lists of applications for This Month and Last Months council meeting.
Future Enhancements to Planning Explorer
The next phase of Planning Explorer will enable users to view lists of applications that are subject to the Streamline Consultation Process. Where an application is presented to council with a recommendation to refuse users will be able to view reasons for refusal and enhanced search facilities will be added which will enable users to search for an application by its address.
